Ducks, Trains & Other Tracks
I am currently developing a one man show - Ducks, Trains & Other Tracks. It's a magic carpet ride that involves white van man insults, lemon trees on trains and escapee ducks, told in poems, stories and with some sonic tinkerings along the way, topped and tailed with some shameless puns...
The show has been developed as part of the Escalator Live Literature Scheme, during which I've received mentorship from one of Radio 4's Saturday Live poets Matt Harvey and worked with the director, James Grieve. The climax of the scheme was a showcase event - along with the four award-winning poets - at the Norfolk & Norwich Festival in May 2009.
But things don't stop there! Armed with an Arts Council England Grants for the Arts Award, I aim to keep working on the show over the course of 2009 - you can keep a check on things here or over at my Ducks Blog where I'll be posting the show's inspirations, influences and coincidences.
